Product categories

To assist easy navigation of the database, products have been assigned to categories. These are common-language categorisations and were selected to be usable to a wide variety of users.

The ecospecifier.ae product category search now uses over 70 common and specialised sustainability industry categories as well as over 450 individual sub-categories covering all sustainable materials products and technologies relevant to an ecologically sustainable and healthy built environment. The ecospecfier.org product category search now uses over 80 common industry categories and more than 540 sub-categories.

The databases that appear on the country websites may be queried by these categories or sub-categories individually or in conjunction with the ‘Outcome or Rating Scheme Credit’ search function and/or the ‘Keyword’ search function.
